RESUMO

In this paper, the authors explore the depiction of perversion and the associated interplay of life and death drives in Roman Polanski's 1992 film Bitter Moon. To begin with, a theoretical discussion is presented regarding perverse organizations of mastery and sadomasochism. Perversion is viewed as an expression of the death drive under erotic disguise, in which the destructive fingerprint of the death drive is revealed at every stage, having as its ultimate purpose the destruction of the other. Based on these theoretical insights a dialogue is developed with Polanski's film, which brings to life the theory of sadomasochistic relations through the multidimensional aesthetic medium of cinema. It is shown how Polanski's cinematic oeuvre conveys the essence of the difficult and complex experience of perverse relations, where the life and death drives and their transformations are manifested. The portrayal of the sadomasochistic relations in this film contributes to the experiential knowledge with which the authors promote insight that would potentially enrich the clinical work with patients with perverse organizations.

We create a computational framework that utilizes loop extrusion (LE) by multiple condensin I/II motors to predict changes in chromosome organization during mitosis. The theory accurately reproduces the experimental contact probability profiles for the mitotic chromosomes in HeLa and DT40 cells. The LE rate is smaller at the start of mitosis and increases as the cells approach metaphase. Condensin II-mediated mean loop size is about six times larger than loops because of condensin I. The loops, which overlap each other, are stapled to a central dynamically changing helical scaffold formed by the motors during the LE process. A polymer physics-based data-driven method that uses the Hi-C contact map as the only input shows that the helix is characterized as random helix perversions (RHPs) in which the handedness changes randomly along the scaffold. The theoretical predictions, which are testable using imaging experiments, do not contain any parameters.

Neste artigo, procurou-se analisar como o perverso, sádico ou masoquista, ao atuar sua fantasia ($<>a) toma-se como objeto a para recusar a castração e localizá-la em seu parceiro angustiado e dividido ($). Assim, ele goza e atende aos imperativos do supereu de modo bem peculiar. Trata-se de uma estratégia obstinada para repor a voz do Outro, torná-lo não castrado, o que lhe daria acesso a um gozo mítico. Para isso, se distinguem as fantasias neurótica e perversa e analisa-se o modo como o engendramento do gozo é correlato à posição do objeto a e do sujeito dividido em cada uma delas. Além disso, se aprofunda, nas relações do supereu com a fantasia do perverso, sádico ou masoquista, o que demonstra suas particularidades. Conclui-se, então, pela importância da clínica e do diagnóstico diferencial nos estudos acerca do supereu.


Resumos In this article, we aimed to analyze how the pervert, sadist, or masochist, when acting out his fantasy ($<>a) takes himself as an object a to refuse castration and locates it in his anguished and divided partner ($). Thus, he enjoys and meets the superego imperatives in a very peculiar way. This is a stubborn strategy to restore the voice of the Other, to make him non-castrated, which would give him access to a mythical jouissance. To this end, neurotic and perverse fantasies are distinguished and the way in which the engendering of jouissance is correlated to the position of the object and that of the divided subject in each one is analyzed. Besides this, the relations of the superego with the fantasy of the perverse, sadist, or masochist are deeply studied, which demonstrates their particularities. Therefore, it is concluded, by the importance of the clinic and the differential diagnosis in the studies about the superego.


Dans cet article, nous analysons comment le pervers, sadique ou masochiste, lorsqu'il réalise son fantasme ($<>a) se prend lui-même comme objet a pour refuser la castration et la situer chez son partenaire angoissé et divisé ($). Ainsi, il jouit et répond aux impératifs du surmoi d'une manière très particulière. Il s'agit d'une stratégie obstinée pour redonner la parole à l'Autre, le rendre non castré, ce qui lui donnerait accès à une jouissance mythique. Pour cela, on distingue les fantasmes névrotiques et pervers et on analyse la façon dont l'engendrement de la jouissance est corrélé à la position de l'objet a et du sujet divisé en chacun d'eux. De plus, il approfondit les relations du surmoi avec le fantasme du pervers (sadique ou masochiste), ce qui démontre ses particularités. On conclut donc par l'importance de la clinique et du diagnostic différentiel dans les études sur le surmoi.


En este artículo hemos tratado de analizar cómo el pervertido, sádico o masoquista, al representar su fantasía ($<>a) se toma a sí mismo como objeto a para rechazar la castración y localizarla en su angustiada y dividida pareja ($). Así, disfruta y cumple con los imperativos del superyó de una manera muy peculiar. Se trata de una estrategia obstinada para restituir la voz del Otro, para hacerlo no castrado, lo que le daría acceso a un goce mítico. Para ello, se distinguen las fantasías neuróticas y las perversas y se analiza el modo en que el engendramiento del goce se correlaciona con la posición del objeto a y del sujeto dividido en cada una de ellas. Además, se profundiza en las relaciones del superyó con la fantasía del perverso, sádico o masoquista, demostrando sus particularidades. Se concluye así la importancia de la clínica y el diagnóstico diferencial en los estudios sobre el superyó.

This text presents how Freud thinks about the masochism. In 1915, it is the return of active sadism in a passive drive which is characteristic of masochism, always secondary. In 1919, he sees in masochism the genesis of perversions. And the article of 1924 knows a primary masochism and distinguishes erotogenic masochism, feminine masochism and moral masochism. After Freud, many studies of clinical forms of masochism can be noted, and in France there is a thesis about the masochism as a first psychic link (Benno Rosenberg, Marilia Aisenstein).

O artigo discorre sobre o tema da alteridade em psicanálise definido como um tipo de diferença absoluta, lugar da causa, da exceção, do impossível de ser simbolizado que orienta todo ato de fala. Freud o situou a partir do estado original humano de desamparo; Lacan, através da linguagem. A alteridade é apresentada em três modalidades: imaginária, simbólica e real. Na imaginária, é encontrada no que não adquire imagem na relação especular; na simbólica, na própria Ordem Simbólica, incapaz de tudo nomear; na real, comparece como o que insiste sempre como obstáculo à simbolização. A modernidade produziu um sujeito prisioneiro do sentimento inconsciente de culpa em decorrência do recalque da dívida simbólica com o Outro. A contemporaneidade é fruto de importantes modificações na estrutura discursiva que fazem obstáculo à supremacia do recalque como tratamento da economia libidinal. Isso não produz necessariamente a psicose. Freud situou a neurose como o negativo da perversão.


The article discusses the theme of alterity in psychoanalysis defined as a type of absolute difference, place of the cause, of the exception, of the impossible to be symbolized that guides every speech act. Freud placed it from the original human state of helplessness; Lacan, through language. Alterity is presented in three modalities: imaginary, symbolic and real. In the imaginary, it is found in what doesn't acquire an image in the specular relation; in the symbolic, in the Symbolic Order itself, unable to name everything; in real mode, he appears as the one who always insists as an obstacle to symbolization. Modernity produced a subject prisoner of the unconscious feeling of guilt due to the repression of the symbolic debt to the Other. Contemporaneity is the result of important changes in the discursive structure that hinder the supremacy of repression as a treatment of the libidinal economy. This does not necessarily produce psychosis, not least because Freud placed neurosis as the negative of perversion.

Our goal in this paper is to reassess the relationship between norms and life by drawing on the philosophy of Georges Canguilhem, particularly some of his unpublished lectures about teratology and sexual determination. First, we discuss the difficulties Canguilhem identified in the introduction of life and sexuality as objects of philosophical reflection. Second, we reassess Canguilhem's understanding of normativity as rooted in life and the axiological activity of the living. Third, we analyze how Canguilhem drew from past and contemporary teratology to conceive of the notions of anomaly and abnormality. Finally, we reconstruct Canguilhem's analysis of a case of hermaphroditism, highlighting how he presented it as evidence that sexual determination is the result of a normative choice. One of the key contributions of the paper to scholarly literature on Canguilhem is a better understanding of his notion of choice, which was considered not the conscious and intentional act of a subject but rather an axiological activity of the living. We conclude by positioning Canguilhem's concept of normativity and his belief that norms are produced by the living in relation to the naturalist/normativist divide in medicine.

BACKGROUND: Adolescence, a transition period from childhood to adulthood forms the foundation of health in later life. The adolescence period which should have been characterised by good health is often marred with life-threatening and irreparable consequences of public health concern. Teen pregnancy is problematic because it could jeopardise adolescents' safe transition to adulthood which does not only affect adolescents, but also their families, babies and society. There is ample evidence about the determinants and effects of teen pregnancy, but it is fragmented and incomplete, especially in Sub-Sahara Africa. This study presents pregnant adolescents' voices to explain significant gaps in understanding their lived experiences and coping strategies. METHODS: This narrative inquiry, involved in-depth interviews with 16 pregnant adolescents, who were recruited from a peri-urban district in Southern Ghana using purposive and snowball techniques in health facilities and communities respectively. The audio recorded interviews were transcribed verbatim and analysed manually using content analysis. RESULTS: Many pregnant adolescents are silent victims of a hash socio-economic environment, in which they experience significant financial deprivation, parental neglect and sexual abuse. Also, negative experiences of some adolescent girls such as scolding, flogging by parents, stigmatisation and rejection by peers and neighbors result in grieve, stress and contemplation of abortion and or suicide. However, adolescents did not consider abortion as the best option with regard to their pregnancy. Rather, family members provided adolescents with critical support as they devise strategies such as avoiding people, depending on God and praying to cope with their pregnancy. CONCLUSION: Adolescent pregnancy occurred through consensual sex, transactional sex and sexual abuse. While parents provide support, pregnant adolescents self-isolate, depend on God and pray to cope with pregnancy and drop out of school. We recommend that the Ministries of Education and Health, and law enforcement agencies should engage community leaders and members, religious groups, non-governmental organisations and other key stakeholders to develop interventions aimed at supporting girls to complete at least Senior High School. While doing this, it is also important to provide support to victims of sexual abuse and punish perpetrators accordingly.

Aggressiveness, assertiveness, and sexual deviance: An empirical-quantitative examination of Stoller's perversion theory Objectives: The main aim of the present study was to empirically examinate the psychodynamic-founded perversion theory of Robert D. Stoller (1979), particularly his assumption of a transformation of aggressive impulses into sexual deviant fantasies due to traumatic experiences. Methods: In the present study different aspects of the theory were examined by using a sample (N = 954) of individuals convicted of sexually motivated offenses who had been clinically and forensically assessed between 2002 and 2018 at the Federal Evaluation Centre for Violent and Sexual Offenders (FECVSO) in the Austrian Prison System. As a part of the psychological testing procedure, German-speaking questionnaires for the assessment of aggressiveness and assertiveness were applied. Results: The results indicated that participants with a diagnosis of paraphilia showed significantly less spontaneously expressed aggression and less social competence compared to individuals without such a diagnosis. Conclusions: The findings of the present study are in line with the core assumptions of Stoller's perversion theory by demonstrating an inverse relationship between the diagnosis of paraphilia and self-reported aggression.

This article examines the pornographic representation of Hailiwa and Daokousu, from Songzhuxuan's novel Yaohu Yanshi, where a sworn brotherhood incorporates an egalitarian homosexual relationship, something highly unusual in the Qing context in which sexual acts, including same-sex ones, were intelligible only via unequal hierarchies. In so doing we explore the queer potentialities of sworn brotherhood, signifying fraternity, friendship and a sexual relationship simultaneously. Drawing on Deleuze and Guattari, queer theory, and Giffney and Hird's concept of the non/human, we argue this tale and its wider genre enriches the scope of what we might term "queer literatures" in offering us historically and culturally situated stories of desire that refuse to confine themselves to the binaries that supported conventional premodern Chinese understandings of gender and sexuality-including the Confucian model of the heterosexual family unit, but also the highly hierarchical notions of sexual status underpinning Qing conceptualizations of sexual acts.

Baseando-nos nas análises genealógica e epistemológica propostas por Foucault e Lantéri-Laura, nosso objetivo principal é discernir quais são as principais linhas discursivas que constituíram o saber em torno da perversão, produzindo um sujeito dito perverso. Emerge de maneira fundamental dessa leitura como a ideia de transgressão de limites acompanha a história dos perversos: seja o limite moral imposto pela autoridade divina, seja o limite jurídico determinado pela lei penal, seja o limite do normal definido pela medicina, a perversão sempre aponta para o excesso transgressor. Tais leituras constituem o solo epistemológico sobre o qual Freud se apoia na concepção de uma metapsicologia cujo eixo central é a sexualidade. O discurso freudiano subverte o estatuto da perversão ao afirmá-la como dimensão inescapável da sexualidade e da constituição da subjetividade humana.


Based on the genealogical and epistemological analyzes proposed by Foucault and Lanteri-Laura, we aim to discern which are the main discursive lines that constituted the knowledge around perversion, producing a so-called perverse subject. It emerges in a fundamental way from this reading how the idea of transgression of limits accompanies the history of the perverse: whether the moral limit imposed by divine authority, whether the legal limit determined by criminal law, or the normal limit defined by medicine, perversion always points towards the transgressive excess. Such readings constitute the epistemological ground on which Freud relies to develop the conception of a metapsychology whose central axis is sexuality. The Freudian discourse subverts the status of perversion by affrming it as an inescapable dimension of sexuality and of the constitution of human subjectivity.


Sur la base des analyses généalogique et épistémologique proposées par Foucault et Lanteri-Laura, notre objectif principal est de discerner quelles sont les principales lignes discursives qui constituaient les connaissances autour de la perversion, produisant un sujet dit pervers. Il ressort de manière fondamentale de cette lecture comment l'idée de transgression des limites accompagne l'histoire du pervers : soit la limite morale imposée par l'autorité divine, soit la limite légale déterminée par le droit pénal, ou la limite normale définie par la médecine, la perversion pointe toujours dans la direction de l'excès transgressif. Ces lectures constituent le terrain épistémologique sur lequel Freud s'appuie pour la conception d'une métapsychologie dont l'axe central est la sexualité. Le discours freudien subvertit le statut de perversion en l'affrmant comme une dimension incontournable de la sexualité et de la constitution de la subjectivité humaine.


Basado en los análisis genealógico y epistemológico propuestos por Foucault y por Lanteri-Laura, nuestro principal objetivo es discernir cuáles son las principales líneas discursivas que constituyeron el conocimiento en materia de perversión, produciendo un sujeto denominado perverso. De esta lectura surge de manera fundamental la idea de que la transgresión de los límites acompaña la historia de lo perverso: ya sea el límite moral impuesto por la autoridad divina, el límite legal determinado por el derecho penal o el límite normal definido por la medicina, la perversión siempre señala el exceso transgresor. Tales lecturas constituyen el fundamento epistemológico en el que Freud se basa para la concepción de una metapsicología cuyo eje central es la sexualidad. El discurso freudiano trastorna el estatuto de la perversión al afirmarla como una dimensión ineludible de la sexualidad y de la constitución de la subjetividad humana.

Resumo Com base na afirmação freudiana de que a neurose seria o negativo da perversão, pretende-se trazer de volta ao contexto acadêmico essa entidade nosológica que paga um preço alto devido ao nome que carrega. O texto se propõe a discutir a perversão no decorrer da obra freudiana, além de desmistificar detalhes da dinâmica perversa, pouco explorada atualmente. Também são abordados os textos de Lacan, em que o psicanalista francês critica a proposta freudiana com outra expressão famosa no meio psicanalítico: a do Inconsciente a céu aberto. Realizou-se uma pesquisa minuciosa em textos nos quais as expressões freudiana e lacaniana surgem, atentando-se para a terminologia original proposta por esses autores. Isto posto e tomando como base a afirmação freudiana, verificou-se a existência de perversões negativas, constituídas por fantasias de conteúdos perversos por vezes causadoras de sintomas neuróticos, em oposição às perversões positivas - ou seja, quando essas fantasias são colocadas em prática sem a presença de sentimentos de asco, vergonha ou pudor. Buscou-se, portanto, entender a dinâmica das perversões em Freud, assim como compreender os critérios delimitadores entre traços perversos e perversões propriamente ditas que ganharam um status clínico ao decorrer de sua obra, servindo de base para o desenvolvimento das demais teorias a respeito do tema em questão.(AU)


Abstract From the Freudian claim that neurosis would be the negative of perversion, this article seeks to bring back to the academic context this nosological entity that pays such a high price because of its name. This article seeks to discuss perversion in the course of Freud's work, besides demystifying details of the perverse dynamics, little explored at present. Moreover, the texts of Lacan will be approached, from which the French psychoanalyst criticizes the Freudian proposal with another famous expression in the psychoanalytic environment: the unconscious in the open. A detailed research was conducted in texts in which the Freudian and Lacanian expressions appear, paying attention to the original terminology proposed by these authors. Having said this, and based on the Freudian assertion, negative perversions were constituted by fantasies of perverse contents, sometimes causing neurotic symptoms, as opposed to positive perversions, that is, when these fantasies are put into practice without the presence of feelings of disgust, shame or indecency. It was sought, therefore, to understand the dynamics of the perversions in Freud and understand the delimitating criteria between perverse traits and actual perversions, which gained a clinical status in the course of his work, serving as base for the development of other theories in respect theme.(AU)


Resumen Con base en la afirmación freudiana de que la neurosis sería lo negativo de la perversión, se pretende traer de vuelta al contexto académico esta entidad nosológica que tiene grandes consecuencias debido al nombre que lleva. El presente artículo intenta discutir la perversión en la obra freudiana, además de desmitificar detalles de la dinámica perversa, poco explorada actualmente. También se abordarán los textos de Lacan que hace críticas a la propuesta freudiana mediante otra expresión famosa en el medio psicoanalítico: la del Inconsciente a cielo abierto. Se realizó una investigación minuciosa en textos de ambos autores en que aparece la expresión, atentándose a la terminología original propuesta por ellos. Dicho esto, y con base en la afirmación freudiana, se encontraron perversiones negativas, constituidas por fantasías de contenido perverso por veces causando síntomas neuróticos, en contraposición a perversiones positivas, es decir, cuando estas fantasías se ponen en práctica sin la presencia de sentimientos de disgusto, vergüenza o pudor. Se buscó entender la dinámica de las perversiones en Freud, así como comprender los criterios delimitadores entre trazos perversos y perversiones propiamente dichas, que ganaron un status clínico en el curso de su obra, sirviendo de base para el desarrollo de otras teorías al respecto del tema en cuestión.(AU)

O presente artigo tem por finalidade discutir como concepções psicanalíticas podem fornecer subsídios à fundamentação clínica do transtorno hipersexual dentro do paradigma biomédico de atenção à saúde mental. Embora se reconheça que os campos de saberes da Psiquiatria e Psicanálise tenham entendimentos e abordagens muito distintas e próprias acerca de psicopatologia, para que o diálogo se tornasse profícuo, a lógica discursiva foi estruturada adotando-se uma equivalência semântica entre Parafilias e Perversões, e entre o Transtorno Hipersexual e a Compulsão Sexual. Ao que parece, o compulsivo sexual flerta com a morte, tendo em vista que sob a ilusão de alcançar uma satisfação plena, ele aceita o ônus da escoação de sua energia libidinal através do sexo, o qual passa a adquirir um caráter de necessidade e não mais de desejo.


This article aims to discuss how psychoanalytic conceptions can provide subsidies to clinical fundamentation of hypersexual disorder within biomedical paradigm of mental health care. Although its recognized that fields of knowledge of Psychiatry and Psychoanalysis have very different understandings and approaches about psychopathology, for the dialogue to become profitable, discursive logic was structured by adopting a semantic equivalence between Paraphrases and Perversions, and between Hypersexual Disorder and Sexual Compulsion. Apparently, the sexual compulsive flirts with death, considering that under the illusion of achieving full satisfaction, he accepts the burden of draining his libidinal energy through sex, which starts to acquire a character of need and not more of desire.

Spatial patterns are ubiquitous in both physical and biological systems. We have recently discovered that mitotic chromosomes sequentially acquire two interesting morphological patterns along their structural axes [L. Chu et al., Mol. Cell, 10.1016/j.molcel.2020.07.002 (2020)]. First, axes of closely conjoined sister chromosomes acquire regular undulations comprising nearly planar arrays of sequential half-helices of similar size and alternating handedness, accompanied by periodic kinks. This pattern, which persists through all later stages, provides a case of the geometric form known as a "perversion." Next, as sister chromosomes become distinct parallel units, their individual axes become linked by bridges, which are themselves miniature axes. These bridges are dramatically evenly spaced. Together, these effects comprise a unique instance of spatial patterning in a subcellular biological system. We present evidence that axis undulations and bridge arrays arise by a single continuous mechanically promoted progression, driven by stress within the chromosome axes. We further suggest that, after sister individualization, this same stress also promotes chromosome compaction by rendering the axes susceptible to the requisite molecular remodeling. Thus, by this scenario, the continuous presence of mechanical stress within the chromosome axes could potentially underlie the entire morphogenetic chromosomal program. Direct analogies with meiotic chromosomes suggest that the same effects could underlie interactions between homologous chromosomes as required for gametogenesis. Possible mechanical bases for generation of axis stress and resultant deformations are discussed. Together, these findings provide a perspective on the macroscopic changes of organized chromosomes.

A conceptual evolution is traceable from early modern classifications of libido nefanda (execrable lust) to early nineteenth-century allusions to 'perversion of the sexual instinct', via pluralizing notions of coitus nefandus/sodomiticus in Martin Schurig's work, and of sodomia impropria in seventeenth- through late eighteenth-century legal medicine. Johann Valentin Müller's early breakdown of various unnatural penchants seemingly inspired similar lists in works by Johann Christoph Fahner and Johann Josef Bernt, and ultimately Heinrich Kaan. This allows an ante-dating of the 'specification of the perverted' (Foucault) often located in the late nineteenth century, and appreciation of pygmalionism and necrophilia as instances of 'perverted sexual instinct'. In this light, Kaan's early psychopathia sexualis was less innovative and more ambivalent than previously thought.

PURPOSE: A case of carbonation dysgeusia associated with the use of topiramate is reported in order to bring awareness to a lesser-known adverse effect of the medication so that providers may be able to more effectively counsel patients and provide potential solutions. SUMMARY: A 39-year-old Caucasian woman with longstanding epilepsy was initiated on topiramate therapy after experiencing a generalized seizure (she reported not taking any antiepileptic medication for years). Topiramate was started at a dosage of 25 mg by mouth twice daily and after 3 weeks titrated to a dosage of 100 mg by mouth twice daily for maintenance therapy. After initiation of topiramate therapy, the patient began to experience an immediate change in her carbonation perception when drinking carbonated beverages; all carbonated beverages, including seltzer and beer, tasted "flat." The patient remained on topiramate for the subsequent 12 months without her carbonation perception returning to normal but noted that drinking carbonated beverages through straws slightly mitigated the adverse effect. Case assessment using the adverse drug reaction probability scale of Naranjo et al indicated that topiramate was the probable cause of the patient's carbonation taste perversion. CONCLUSION: A 39-year-old Caucasian woman developed chronic carbonation dysgeusia after initiation of topiramate following a generalized seizure.

ABSTRACT: This article aims to demonstrate how perversion, as a subject, activates investigation. As a starting point, it explores Freud's idea surrounding fetishism as a paradigm of itself; a necessary interval between neurosis and psychosis. This analysis is followed by a presentation of various notions developed by Lacan in his teachings. Subsequently, the article analyzes Haneke's 2001 film "The piano teacher", here considered as a case of substitute perversion that adds to the few documented cases of this nature. The movie contributes elements that allow to think about and further develop the notion of substitute perversion in psychosis. In it, "the teacher" demonstrates the separation between love, desire, juissance and what Lacan calls "false hole" through borromean rings. Lastly, questions are posed regarding perversion; organized by answers, opposite the two aforementioned structures.


Resumo: O artigo ocupa-se de mostrar como a perversão é uma temática que ativa a pesquisa. Explora, inicialmente, a ideia de Freud sobre o fetichismo como paradigma desse operador clínico, intervalo necessário entre a neurose e a psicose. Depois apresenta noções formuladas por Lacan em seus ensinamentos. Examina, posteriormente, o filme A professora de piano, de Haneke (2001), considerando-o material que contribui diante da escassez de casos sobre perversão. Encontra no filme elementos para pensar e indagar a suplência perversa na psicose. A professora ensina a propósito da amarração do nó borromeano entre amor, desejo, gozo e do estabelecimento do que Lacan chama: "falso furo". O artigo, finalmente, formula questões sobre essa estrutura clínica que, diferentemente das outras duas, se organiza não em certezas, mas adiantando respostas.

O fenômeno da explosão brutal da violência escancara a profundidade da crise dos pressupostos éticos em nossa cultura. Este é o tema do presente artigo e que move o pêndulo entre as reflexões acerca da pulsão de morte e o traumatismo na vida cotidiana (movido pelo estupor constante frente à indiferença e ao sadismo presente nas relações perversas que convertem o outro em objeto de uso, submissão e humilhação/vergonha). A fim de acompanharmos os processos de erosão que corroem a subjetividade nos dias atuais, é preciso seguir as trilhas teóricas entrelaçadas nos textos Além do princípio do prazer e O mal-estar na civilização, em que a pulsão de morte se apresenta como pura potência de destruição. O convite é para que os psicanalistas, enquanto agentes de cuidado e possuidores de um instrumental teórico/técnico possante, encontrem uma resposta coletiva diante das condições de produção do traumático em nossa época.


The phenomenon of the brutal explosion of violence opens up the depth of the crisis of the ethical assumptions in our culture. This is the theme of this article and that moves the pendulum between reflections about the death drive and trauma in everyday life (moved by constant fright/stupor before indifference and sadism present in perverse relationships that convert the other into an object of use submission and shame/ humiliation). In order to follow erosion procedures that erode subjectivity nowadays, one must follow the theoretical paths intertwined in the articles Beyond the pleasure principle (1920) and The malaise in culture (1930) where the death drive presents itself as pure power of destruction. This is an invitation for psychoanalysts, as care agents that have a powerful theoretical/technical instrument, to find a collective response to the conditions of production of the traumatic in our time.


El fenómeno de la explosión brutal de la violencia muestra la profundidad de la crisis de los supuestos éticos en nuestra cultura. Este es el tema del presente artículo y que mueve el péndulo entre las reflexiones sobre la pulsión de muerte y el traumatismo en la vida cotidiana (movido por el estupor constante frente a la indiferencia y el sadismo presentes en las relaciones perversas que convierten al otro en un objeto de uso, sumisión y humillación/vergüenza). Para comprender los procesos de erosión que corroen la subjetividad actual, es necesario seguir los caminos teóricos entrelazados por Freud en los artículos Más allá del principio del placer (1920) y El malestar en la cultura (1930) donde la pulsión de muerte se presenta como puro poder de destrucción. La invitación es para que los psicoanalistas, como agentes de cuidado que poseen una poderosa herramienta teórico/técnica, encuentren una respuesta colectiva ante las condiciones de producción de lo traumático en nuestro tiempo.


Le phénomène de l'explosion brutale de la violence ouvre toute grande la profondeur de la crise des présupposés éthiques dans notre culture. Celui-ci est le sujet de cet article et qui meut le pendule entre les réflexions concernant la pulsion de mort et le traumatisme au quotidien (poussé par la stupeur constante face à l'indifférence et au sadisme présent dans les relations perverses qui convertissent l'autre en objet d'usage, soumission et humiliation/honte). Afin de suivre les processus d'érosion qui corrodent la subjectivité aujourd'hui, il est nécessaire de suivre les voies théoriques entrelacées dans les articles Au-delà du principe du plaisir (1920) et Le malaise culturel (1930) où la pulsion de mort se présente comme un pur pouvoir de destruction. L'invitation est pour que les psychanalystes, en tant qu'agents de soins et possédant un puissant instrument théorique/technique, trouvent une réponse collective en face des conditions de production du traumatique à notre époque.

This paper presents initial thoughts about the phenomenon of parasitic language. This is a language which clings to the other's linguistic patterns and in doing so produces a double manifestation of omnipotence and impotence; a language that forges a linguistic "prosthesis," and while allowing for a false manifestation of language and thinking, constitutes thoughts as foreign objects that are mechanically and artificially "stuck" to the speaking subject. The early roots of this language, as illustrated in a detailed analytical case description, inhere in the infiltration of language by multi-generational traumatic traces. This turns language itself into a scene of simultaneous repetition of the act of salvation and the act of annihilation.

A contemporary definition of perversion is offered that aims to reveal a form of psychic functioning as a quality of being toward others in the external world, translating to a mode of relating toward internal objects, and/or a mode of relating toward one's body as an object. This quality of being is contrasted with perversion denoting a specific set of behaviors, as in classical conceptualizations. Two schematics illustrate healthy and perverse phenomenological positions (i.e. identifiable within the person's preconscious or conscious perspective and experience). These positions highlight ways in which perverse modes of experiencing can be depicted, by use of internal psychic positions and the extent to which these are integrated, interpenetrate one another or are truncated and foreclosed. In particular, a perverse internal psychic mode is proposed where affective, embodied, and pre-reflective self-experience is split off or dissociated. The case of Laura is offered as an illustration of a perverse mode of being and a perverse relationship to her body. I also suggest that perverse modes of relating towards others (primarily through objectification) is more common in males whereas the objectification of one's body is more common in females.

Resumo O artigo tem por objetivo explorar, em uma perspectiva teórica conceitual, a presença corporal da sexualidade na compreensão da psicanálise, não se esgotando ela no psiquismo. Argumenta-se que as vivências primitivas da sexualidade (a sexualidade infantil) não somente determinam formas da fantasia e dos sintomas, mas vigem como vivências corporais de estímulo e excitação, satisfação, prazer de órgão e dor. Para isso, percorre-se os diversos modos da presença da sexualidade nas neuroses e nas perversões, tais como compreendidas a partir dos primeiros textos de Freud, mostrando suas raízes no corpo e seus traços originários como permanentemente corporais. Conclui-se com a irredutibilidade entre psiquismo, sexualidade e corpo.


Abstract The article aims to explore, from a conceptual and theoretical perspective, the corporeal presence of sexuality in the comprehension of psychoanalysis, not exhausting it in the psyche. It is argued that the primitive experiences of sexuality (infantile sexuality) not only determine forms of fantasy and symptoms, but also act as bodily experiences of stimulation and arousal, organ satisfaction and pleasure and pain. In order to do so, one goes through the various modes of the presence of sexuality in neuroses and perversions, as understood from Freud's early texts, showing their roots in the body and their original features as permanently bodily. It is concluded with irreducibility between psyche, sexuality and body.
